Quick fatigue testing

Quick fatigue testing lies in causing defined substitute loads in machine elements, units and systems. Results of these loads in a form of fatigue damages of machine structure are equivalent to the results of loads existing in genuine operation according to Palmgren-Sapper hypothesis (regarding cumulative fatigue damages) checked in sufficient degree for industry needs.

Quick fatigue testing are performed at the stand in the shape of an oval track. It enables to perform simultaneous tests of fatigue strength of power transmission systems and tests of supporting structures of working and transport wheeled machinery.

Testing is performed in three variants:

  • fatigue testing of power transmission system when the machine travels with no obstacles and when it is loaded with horizontal forces from towed trailer,
  • fatigue testing of supporting structure when the machine is loaded only with vertical forces from obstacles put on the surface of test track,
  • simultaneous fatigue testing power transmission system loaded with forces from a trailer and supporting structure loaded by influence of travel over the obstacles. Measurement characteristics of towing power is taken at the same time.

The parameters of the test stand:

  • Length of test track - 270 m
  • Equipment:
    • set of exchangeable obstacles: 50÷160 mm,
    • device for automatic steering and protection of machine under test,
    • dynamometer trailer of variable braking force 1200 ÷ 2500 daN,
    • universal apparatus for measurement and analysis of mechanical and thermodynamic values.
